Molly the Maid available for adoption

I finally managed to get a few shots of Molly this afternoon but the sky has been dreary all day and the light is shocking but anyway these are it's good as it gets today. I prefer to shoot in daylight so the colours and textures show up as the really are...hence why some day I struggle with pictures!

Well anyway here is MOLLY the MAID, the second in my series of 'HAIR-DO BEARS'. Most people know that I already do bear with hair dos ...when I started making bears i felt it was a way to draw on my skill as a hairdresser and they have proved very popular. So I decided to see if I could push the envelope further than ever and this time give the bear a whole head of hair in a contrasting colour. Molly the Maid has a sharp little black bob with streaks of blonde.

 When she was done I thought she looked like a little scullery maid ..hence her name. At 12 inches tall she is slightly bigger than my last little Hair-do bear Cherry. But I think she has the cutest face ever and I just love her whole look I think it's worked spectacularly well and is quite a unique look.

She can stand if balanced , has wired arms for posing and sculpted paws. I made her whole outfit which comprises a sweet black linen dress trimmed with vintage  French silk ribbon, a little pinny which I finished with a row of tiny hearts. Her dinky little sweeping brush completes her pretty look.

A bear called TATTERLY.......

This is TATTERLY...he's a sweet, sweet bear made from a fusty blonde, windswept mohair with  the odd black hair in the pile giving it an antiquey look.

He's about 14 inches tall and has  sad, oval eyes and new, smaller, baby feet made from ultrasuede. He has downturned upper paws. I waxed his nose lightly and gave him a sad , forlorn expression.

He is wearing a  feathery, faded ruffle which I carefully hand dyed in shades of pale gold and antique grey.

His adoption fee is £425 including worldwide shipping.

He is available for immediate adoption.

Yasmin's auction finishing tomorrow

Just in case you're interested Yasmin, my beautiful girl bear is on eBay till tomorrow night at 9.30pm UK time. She has a reserve of $650 (£395) and she will be shipped free of charge.So if you haven't seen her yet you still have time to pay her a visit!!

A customs headache

  Thanks must go to Bev (who has adopted the lovely MIKIO the PANDA) who sent me the low-down on getting an artist bear on a plane!!!

Apparently Mikio sailed onto the flight at Gatwick heading for Orlando....but when he tried to board the aircraft to come home they were having none of it. He went through Xray and it seems they thought there was some'densee organic matter' concealed in his tummy. I can only assume it's the tightly packed wood-wool that I use to support the head on the neck...which should not have caused a headache but did. Anyhow Mikio escaped safely home, unhurt and still with his seams intact ...hopefully he enjoyed his flight ! It seems caskets of human remains can show up as causing the same concern...I assure you there are no human remains planted in the THREE O'CLOCK BEARS!!! LOL

So, if you are taking your artist bear abroad maybe it's best to check out if it's ok for them to travel along with you...I would hate to think they might be unceremoniously disembowelled by a nasty customs officer with a sharp pair of scissors. No bear wants that kind of undignified end!!!
