I hope everyone had a great day at Hugglets yesterday. All the bears that were available on the Silly Bears stand found a new home ...but unfortunately Miss Daintee Dinah has gone home with Julieann, the sale fell through at close of play last night and so she is still available for adoption. If you are interested in adopting her do get in touch with Julieann. I can tell you about this lovely bear but Julieann is selling her on the Silly Bears website.

 

 

The final bear for Hugglets...PLUM DUFF

This is Plum Duff,  a gorgeous dressed alpaca boy. He has a lovely outfit which hand made especially for him , set off with a pretty hat which I trimmed with a hand dyed feather. He will be available on the Silly Bears stand at HUGGLETS on Sunday 27th February.

 

Plans afoot!!

Well I can hardly believe it but 2012 will see the THREE O'CLOCK BEARS  2012 anniversary!!! TEN years...who'd have thunk it!!!

So I am plotting a series of bears to mark the event along with other things which will remain a secret until I have cast them in concrete!

One thing I am hoping to do is to run a short beginners bear making course in 2012. The details are not finalised and this is well and truly in its embryonic stages but even though  compared to some I am perhaps a relative newcomer I do feel I might have something to offer. This won't be a course on how to replicate a Three O'Clock Bear, but I  do hope to offer a look at how to do the basics my way and encourage the start of many  happy bear making adventures.

I have never felt equipped to take on anything like this up to now but given this milestone and all the potholes I have fallen down I think it might be nice to try to help others avoid them!!

I will unravel the mystery as the details are finalised!!!

 

 

Mr Bluebird..another Hugglets bear

I just finished this handsome bear . He is another who will be available on the SILLY BEARS STAND at Hugglets a week on Sunday. He's a big bear at 20 inches and he is made from the most fabulous Tissavel fabric which is so tactile and pretty I am itching to do another!

As the theme for the Silly Bears collection this year is Out of the Chocolate Box I decided to name him Mr Bluebird after the well loved Bluebird Toffees which were made not too far from here, near Birmingham. Silly Bears are showing in Hall 1, Stand 18C.

I found him this lovely wooden Bluebird brooch and gave him a hand dyed silk bow.

I will be showing my final 'OUT OF THE CHOCOLATE BOX' Bear at the weekend!

 

Two fabulous bears for Silly Bears at Hugglets

Here are the next two bears for the SILLY BEARS stand at HUGGLETS. I am totally in love with these two. The theme of Julieanns stand this year is 'OUT OF THE CHOCOLATE BOX'  and I have used the  theme to create these two using shades of toffee, chocolate and biscuity brown. I am loving this new eye technique too, shown off beautifully here by the first designTaffee Bear. He is approx 18.5inches and is so handsome with his sweet face.

 

Next is Miss Daintee Dinah which is a name I discovered while searching for vintage chocolate bars to name these bears after. She is cute as a button in her bronze taffeta dress trimmed with brown lace. I made her the sweetest pair of leather and lace boots and she carries a basket of flowers. I also made her a pretty wired picture hat to frame her face.

A sneak preview....

Well...the good news is that I have finished the first bear for the SILLY BEARS HUGGLETS STAND . His name is Mr Truffles and he's a big 22 inch bear with locline armatures in his legs and wired arms. He has the sweetest face and reminds me of an old teddy with his wobble head and forlorn expression.

I still have another 4 bears to complete for Julieanns stand and I am doing those now...they will appear on here as and when they are finished...so watch this space!!
