I just finished this fabulous bear who is off to the USA to live. I called her Miss Violet Fleur and I think she's a really sweet girl....I am loving these dressed bears! It's nice to do a girl bear for a change too!
Well, I have been working flat out on this one....I got some gorgeous vintage Tissavel faux fur at the weekend and have been working round the clock to finish this little bear. He's kind of a fusion bear..I made his face a bit more pointy so he'd look a bit like a real baby bear facially but he is still a teddy bear. He has a two tone shaded face and he has wired arms which enables nice posing. He has short stubby legs and a nice round tummy.
I think his little face is adorable and love this colouration ...I am very fond on inset muzzles ..I think they make the bears very sweet indeed. I kept his accessories very simple, just a little leather tie and a painted wooden button. I don't think he needs and 'fuss'
He's 13 inches tall and is nice and chunky. He's available right now for immediate adoption.
Here's Little Patches. He's a sweet baby at 10 inches tall and is made from Tissavel faux fur which I have hand shaded to create a shadowing effect. He has wired arms for posing and I have sculpted his little toes and added some shading for added interest.
He has the prettiest baby face with black glass eyes which I outlined with upper and lower lids to which I added a bit of bronze glimmer.
I finished his look with and olive green velvet bow which I feel is just enough for the this sweet little bear.
'It's rather dark in the earth today, said one little bulb to another, But I thought that I felt a sunbeam's ray, we must strive and grow till we find our way, and they nestled close to each other. They struggled and strived by day and by night, till two little snowdrops in green and white, rose out of the darkness and into the light; and softly kissed one another.'
I remember that poem from infants school so it was with this in mind that I set about thinking of my next bear. This bear is called Sunbeam and he has his very own bunch of snowdrops which I made especially for him to hold.
They go very nicely with his fabulous gold fur and the hand dyed emerald green silk velvet ruffle that I made. He's 16 inches tall and can stand nicely if balanced, he has a beautifully expressive face with lots of detailing and scissoring to create a stunning bear.
This is Miyu...a beautiful 16 inch panda made from ivory and russet brown very dense Schulte mohair. He can stand nicely as his weight is very balanced to allow for standing. He has a gorgeous face with a soft expression. I used a black glass eyes rimmed with upper and lower eyelids upon which I shimmered a pearl shade to add a highlight. He has a lovely waxed nose and I added shading to create expression.
I finished off with a simple but striking ruffle of Chinese woven vintage ribbon which I thi suits him perfectly.
I finally managed to get a few shots of Molly this afternoon but the sky has been dreary all day and the light is shocking but anyway these are it's good as it gets today. I prefer to shoot in daylight so the colours and textures show up as the really are...hence why some day I struggle with pictures!
Well anyway here is MOLLY the MAID, the second in my series of 'HAIR-DO BEARS'. Most people know that I already do bear with hair dos ...when I started making bears i felt it was a way to draw on my skill as a hairdresser and they have proved very popular. So I decided to see if I could push the envelope further than ever and this time give the bear a whole head of hair in a contrasting colour. Molly the Maid has a sharp little black bob with streaks of blonde.
When she was done I thought she looked like a little scullery maid ..hence her name. At 12 inches tall she is slightly bigger than my last little Hair-do bear Cherry. But I think she has the cutest face ever and I just love her whole look I think it's worked spectacularly well and is quite a unique look.
She can stand if balanced , has wired arms for posing and sculpted paws. I made her whole outfit which comprises a sweet black linen dress trimmed with vintage French silk ribbon, a little pinny which I finished with a row of tiny hearts. Her dinky little sweeping brush completes her pretty look.
This is the second in my new 'hairdo' bear series. This is MOLLY THE MAID. By the time I got to doing the photos is the light was pretty much gone so this is the best I can do. I will do more tomorrow when hopefully the light will be better!
But I couldn't wait to show her off..I am planning a blonde 'hairdo bear' next!!!
